9:19am on 28 June 2008. There is much to explore in the Cooktown region (which is where Mungumby Lodge is found). A little to the north (or if you prefer, about 20 or so kilometres south of Cooktown) is a magnificent range made up of boulders large and small. It is not recommended that one go walkies in and over these rocks. Many lives have been lost by those who did, or who wandered into (never to be seen again) the multitude of caves and caverns that lie within this mountain. This is a photo of some of the trees that grow on this range - yes, the boulders really are that big. |
