Romane’s Photo Album

Welcome to my photo album. These are what I mostly (there are exceptions) consider to be the best of those taken since the opportunity to once again pick up a good camera came my way in 2002. The first camera was a FujiFilm S3000, which did a good job as an introduction after so many years of absence, until an accident with both a rock and with water in mid-2006 destroyed it. After an interval of many months, the finances allowed the purchase of a Canon EOS 30D (just after the first quarter of 2007).

The following link leads to pages of thumbnails. Each thumbnail is linked to a larger version of the image. When viewing these larger images, thumbnailed links will display near the top of the page to navigate backwards and forwards through the collection. Between these thumbnails is a “breadcrumb” to aid in navigation back to higher level pages. In an attempt to keep it less confusing, there are only 25 thumbnails per page. I am certain that it will not take you long to work out the structure and be comfortably navigating though the entire collection.

All Photo’s - Thumbnails that lead to every photo in the collection. Originally I had created subdivisions of flowers and landscapes and so on. With the time available to me, the effort of maintaining such a layout is more than I can afford. Thus, for the foreseeable future, it will be just this one classification of ‘all’.

Note that from page 11 to page 15 inclusive of the thumbnails do not as yet link to any images, being in place ready for photos as they are made available at a later date. Call it future-proofing (Romane grins).

Up till image 115, there is no sorting of images by any means. From image 116, sorting has occurred based on date taken. Perhaps one day (if the inclination so overtakes me) I will return to sort these first 115 images likewise into date order. However, the lack of sorting should not affect your viewing pleasure.

At the top of every page between the thumbnails of the previous and next images will be found a “breadcrumb” showing where you are, and providing links back to higher level pages.

For users of browsers other than Firefox - sorry, but I wrote this for best appearance in Firefox (both Windows and Linux) as that is my browser of choice. And looking at the statistics that the host server provides me, Firefox is by far the most common browser so far accessing these pages. I have tested in Internet Explorer 7, and also in Konquerer, and the differences are so minor as to be negligible. There is hope that one day, the various browsers will behave in a consistent manner to the instructions in the HTML and CSS, but till then…. For all browsers, provided your screen resolution is at 1024 x 768 or better you should not have the image pushing off to the right of the browser window (well, that's the theory, anyway).

You are free to explore, and I hope that you enjoy what you see. And if you decide that you would like to write, you may do so here. However, please put a recognisable summary line in your email. I get so much spam that if there is not a clear summary line, your email may not be noticed among the spam, and thus be deleted.
