Editorial Note: The Universal House of Justice, the supreme administrative body of the Bahá’í Faith, was elected in April, 1963 by the 56 National Assemblies existing at that time, in accordance with provisions in the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh. The National Spiritual Assembly of Canada which was joined with that of the United States at the time these Messages defining the principles of Bahá’í administration were written, became an independent national body in 1948.
